As the race season comes to a close, it’s clear that our volunteers are the best we could hope for. We know it’s true because runners tell us so! Run Stillwater supports these groups through our Volunteer for Donation program. This weekend’s race wraps our season and to thank them for all they do for us and you, we’re sending shout outs to just some of the fantastic nonprofit groups we are proud and honored to support. Please take a look at how these groups are supporting our community:

Breast Cancer 3-Day – This group of pink-clad volunteers are invaluable at our finish line and during packet pickup. They raise money for the Susan G. Komen organization supporting research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives that impact efforts to eliminate this pervasive disease.

River Valley Christian Church – RVCC coordinates all our marshalling volunteers and manages their training and locations. Our races average around 50 marshals and RVCC makes it all happen. They raise money for their organization, which includes substantial support for an orphanage in Romania, which they’ve adopted and supported for many years.

Stillwater Kiwanis Club – The Kiwanis Club is among many groups staffing our water stations. They keep it local in Stillwater supporting kids activities and scholarships in the area. This active and thoughtful local organization was recently recognized as a distinguished club by Kiwanis International.

Hudson Sports – The Hudson High School sports organization assists with multiple water stations at many of our races. They use the money raised to provide the equipment and logistics needed for these athletes to train and compete throughout the district.

Stillwater Area High School Choral Program – Volunteering is more than sports. The Stillwater choral program is a regular feature among our water station volunteers. Their efforts support this premier arts program, which has been recognized by many as among the best in Minnesota. They raise money to support the organizations needs including equipment, music education and travel.
