Call us crazy, but putting on cool events where people come and have a good time is our idea of fun.
Stillwater native Ryan Bevens started Run Stillwater, Inc. in 2012. That year, Ryan and a group of folks got together and decided there was fun to be had staying up all night, drinking coffee and taking your chances on the weather to make a race happen. It all started with two races: the Stillwater Log Run 10 Mile and 5K and the Stillwater Lift Bridge Road Race 10 Mile and 5K. In 2014 the Stillwater Half Marathon/5K was added to the roster. In 2019, the total race roster became five events with the addition of the Gopher to Badger Half Marathon and the inaugural St. Croix Crossing Half Marathon.
The philosophy of Run Stillwater is simple – focus on our guests. We work hard to deliver the safest events, the most scenic courses, great event apparel, cool medals, and the most responsive, accommodating customer service. Since day one, all Run Stillwater-produced races have received “Five Star” ratings from participants.
To accomplish this the company has assembled a group of advisors and vendors that have a combined 100+ years of experience in producing high-quality running events. Among them are experienced vendors and consultants who have worked with the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, the Los Angeles Marathon and other iconic events.
In 2015, Run Stillwater put in place a “Volunteer for Donation” program to support the race-day staff in providing help with course deployment and marshaling, water stations and start/finish line assistance. Youth organizations, church groups and other nonprofits may sign up online to help, and in exchange, Run Stillwater, Inc. will make a donation to their non-profit organization. It’s an honor to keep it local by providing an opportunity for these groups in this way and we look forward to working with many of them again and welcoming others in the future.
Thank you for your interest in Run Stillwater, Inc. On behalf of the staff and volunteers, welcome to Stillwater!
